My inner four-year-old was ecstatic when in I got the chance to work hands-on with (and sometimes even operate!) Hitachi Excavators. Over the course of two years, I travelled coast to coast and up to Alaska, and I flew to Atlanta so many times that I was on a first name basis with the Delta gate agents.

Part of a new international brand launch in the U.S., this project turned out to be an amazing journey. I got to capture all sorts of images and video of excavators, spend time with customers using their equipment, and learn what matters most to them.

These shoots really tested my field production skills, as I had to ensure that we made the most content possible in the limited time available. I was able to overcome all manner of obstacles, book last-minute travel (“How soon can you be in Orlando?”) and film in remote Alaskan villages. Every new challenge turned out to be a rewarding problem to solve.
